Nutrition for Learning fundraising auction at Galt Collegiate Wednesday

CAMBRIDGE -- Items worth more than $7,000 are up for bids in a fundraising auction to support the "nutrition for learning" program at Galt Collegiate Institute.
The program provides food for students who need it -- no questions asked -- to start their school days, readying them to learn.
The auction is open to the public Wed., March 10, in the 1,050-student school at 200 Water St. N. It runs 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free.
The event is the work of grade 11 and 12 business classes along with staff, organizers say.
Donated items up for auction include:
- WestJet – airfare for 2 to anywhere WestJet flies – valued at $4,600
- The Property Guys – real estate listing – valued at $700
- Ultimate Drivers – driver’s education course – valued at $685
- African Lion Safari – family pass – valued at $125
- Ipod Classic – valued at $280
- UNIGLOBE Donaldson Travel – luggage – valued at $125
- Jonas TV & Appliances – small kitchen appliances – valued at $160
- Dan Cap Productions – gift certificate – valued at $50
- Blackshop Restaurant – lunch for two – valued at $50
- Zehrs – gift certificate – valued at $50
